Mudchute Park & Farm

This much-loved local amenity came into being in 1977, as a Queen's Jubilee Project, and is still (2014) managed by a committee of local people. It was created on land originally belonging to the Port of London Authority. The high banks were built in the 1870s, designed to contain silt which was pumped, or “shot” from the nearby Millwall Docks
