‘The Anchor and Hope’ on the corner of Westerry Road and Manilla Street, looking south with the Barkentine Estate towers in the distance. The building was still standing, but derelict, in 2013. The name is said to originate in the idea of a ship anchoring at the river mouth and hoping for a favourable wind and tide
